Rituals Planner

Privacy Policy

Effective August 18, 2026

Rituals Planner is a life-planning and time-blocking app operated by Code City LLC. This policy explains what information Rituals collects, how it is used, and the choices available to users.

Information We Collect

Rituals may collect account information such as email address, user ID, profile name, subscription status, and authentication details needed to operate an account.

Rituals stores user-created planning content, including tasks, time blocks, daily routines, habits, projects, notes, events, important dates, goals, weekly reviews, personal memory entries, vision board images and captions, voice journal transcripts and metadata, reminders, and Aurora AI prompts or planning requests.

Rituals may collect diagnostic information such as app version, build number, operating-system version, device details, error names, error messages, and crash or performance context so the service can detect and fix reliability problems.

Optional Device Permissions

Rituals may ask for optional access to notifications, calendars, microphone, speech features, Live Activities, Focus, or photo-related features when a user chooses a feature that needs that permission. Calendar events are read only after permission and can be imported into the user's Rituals timeline. Voice journal audio remains on device unless the user chooses a sync feature that sends related transcript or metadata to Rituals.

How We Use Information

Rituals uses information to provide app functionality, sync data across devices, authenticate accounts, generate plans, power Aurora AI planning, deliver reminders, maintain subscriptions, provide support, protect the service, and improve reliability.

Sharing

Rituals does not sell personal information and does not use collected data to track users across apps or websites owned by other companies. Rituals may share data with service providers that operate the app, including cloud hosting, database, email, payment, and AI infrastructure, only as needed to provide the service.

Aurora AI and Third-Party AI Processing

Aurora is Rituals' optional AI planning assistant. Aurora only runs when a user actively asks it something, and only after the user has granted explicit permission in the app (the one-time "Aurora uses AI" consent screen; the same permission can be granted or revoked at any time in Settings → Aurora → "Share data with Aurora"). Nothing is sent to any AI service in the background or without that permission.

What is sent: when the user submits an Aurora request, the app transmits the user's message together with a snapshot of their planning data — task titles, due dates and priorities, time blocks, project and goal names, event titles, note previews, the shape of their daily routine, and the memory notes Aurora keeps for that account. Passwords, email contents, and payment details are never included.

Who receives it: the request goes to Rituals' servers (operated by Code City LLC) and is forwarded to OpenAI, the third-party AI provider that generates Aurora's responses, via OpenAI's API.

How it is used: solely to generate the Aurora response the user asked for and to maintain that user's own Aurora memory. Under OpenAI's API data-usage terms, API content is not used to train OpenAI's models, and OpenAI processes it under data-protection commitments that provide protection equal to this policy. Rituals does not share Aurora content with any other third party.

Retention and Deletion

Rituals keeps account and planning data while an account is active or as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain security. Users may delete data in the app where supported or request account/data deletion through support.

Security

Rituals uses practical technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect user information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.

Children

Rituals is not directed to children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without appropriate consent, we will take steps to delete it.
